Damn you Meow Mix song !!!

I've had this song in my head for days now. I'm not even sure if it qualifies as a song.

I'm starting the weekend early so here were my favorite links of the week:

♥ Another diy tutorial for my crafts-to-d0 list. So far I only have 1 embroidery hoop so I'll need to collect a few more before I start the project.

♥ One of my favorite Flickr groups is Wardrobe Remix. It's so interesting looking at people's style all over the world.

♥ I just entered a contest on Casey's musings. Let her know your favorite blog and you'll get a chance to win a vintage goodie bag.

♥ Be sure to check out Rare Birds Finds tomorrow, we'll be showcasing some great finds for under $10.

A treat for me and the boyfriend

A few weeks ago, I reached an Etsy milestone...60 sales. I never imagined I would sell so much in only a few months. So I decided to treat myself and the boyfriend to a little treat. For myself, I ordered a gigantic bar of soap from Soap with Balls. I've tried a lot of handmade soaps and I have to say that this one is in my top 3. My only complaint (and it's not even really a complaint), is that it's so big it keeps falling off my soap dish. Hmmm, maybe I should invest in a bigger soap dish.

For the boyfriend, I got him 2 t-shirts from No Star Clothing based in Portland, Oregon. They have the funniest politically incorrect t-shirts out there.

Few pictures from last weekend

Last weekend, we went to Merrickville and then for a walk along the Ottawa River. In Merrickville, we stopped at a ice cream shop that had the craziest ice cream flavors like Cherry & Black Pepper and Honey Garlic. I got something a bit more mainstream - rhubarb in a homemade waffle cone. Delicious!

Here are a few pictures of the Ottawa River:

Here were my favorite links of the week:

♥ Fashion, evolved has a recap of Project Runway's first and second episode.

♥ I put this tutorial on my list of crafts-to-do from Design Sponge.

Birdless birdbath

When I bought my birdbath last year, I had envisioned flocks of birds enjoying the birdbath on a hot summer day. I'm on year #2 and still not a single bird has stopped by.

Well at least the cat uses it. Notice how he carefully balances himself on the rock to reach the water.

Windy days

Yesterday, I decided to redo a few pictures. Of course, I hadn't realized how windy it was until I got outside. Here are a few outtakes:

Finally after many MANY photos, I got 2 that I like. Who said being a model/ self photographer was easy?

Available for purchase here.

Featured in the press

I recently found out that my Parisian catnip mouse was featured on craftstylish.com. I had almost forgotten about that little guy. He's still available in my Etsy shop 4Paws.

I also discovered a fun website called Then and Now. They feature artist that have pictures of their very first piece. It's really interesting to see the evolution in people's work. I didn't have any pictures of my first sewing attempt but I did have one of a bookmark I made as a child. Thankfully, my crafting skills have improved over the years.

My blog's new look

Some of you may have noticed, my blog got a new look a few weeks ago.

First, I got a blog banner. YAY! It was designed by the multi-talented Gilbea. You can check out her fabulous etsy shop and fashion blog. She also has a new contest on her blog every Monday. This week yo have the chance of winning a beautiful romantic corsage from Bonzie.

Second, I added a third column to my blog courtesy of Blogger Buster.

Last but not least, you can now subscribe to my blog via email. Simply enter your email in the box at the upper left-hand corner. You'll probably need to enter a security code so they don't think you're a spambot*.

Back from the cottage

After a relaxing Canada Day at the cottage, it's hard to get back in swing of things. Today, I'm working on a wedding dress pattern and doing a major cleaning of my studio. I think I'd rather be back at the lake catching some rays and watching the boys work on their cannonball.
